My 30 (or more!) days challenges

Day 29 – Inspired by Holiday

I wasn’t feeling inspired by any particular holiday, when thinking over today’s makeup, so decided on a general holiday makeup, if I could call it so. What does it mean? Well, holiday makeup primarily means glow and glitter, although, of course, you don’t want your face to be too shiny, and neither do you want it to remind of a disco ball. So after nearly a month of mattifying my face every day, today I’m finally going to attempt at a dewy look!

???????????????????????????????

I’ve found a couple of Caudalie product testers at home which I am now going to use. As the first step to a dewy look is a nicely moisturised skin, I start with the Radiance Serum and apply it all over my face.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

Then there is this tinted moisturiser, which I’ll be substituting for foundation. It comes in two colours: light to medium and medium to dark. I go for the former, but it looks a bit dark on my skin (which, mind you, is definitely not the palest ever!) and also has a slightly orange tint to it. It leaves me wondering how the medium to dark one would look… But on the positive side, it does give that glowing dewy effect.

Not all of the face has to glow, though, so I apply compact powder onto my nose, my chin and the middle of my forehead.

???????????????????????????????

To amplify the glow even further, I replace blush with pink lip colour, for its creamy texture. I only apply it on the apples of my cheeks.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

And then I use some of the weird white lip colour as highlighter for my cheekbones.

???????????????????????????????

Now it’s time to do the eyes, and I start with applying a shimmering champagne-coloured eyeshadow on the whole under-brow area right until the crease line.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

Then a darker shimmering colour is applied to the upper half of the mobile eyelid.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

Next I take some shimmering light pink eyeshadow and apply it on the inner part of the top eyelid.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

For the outer part I use a darker pink colour with a touch of purple.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

Then I take a silvery eye pencil and outline the whole eye with it.

???????????????????????????????

A black eyepencil is used for the waterline.

???????????????????????????????

Now this combination of a black line inside and a silver one outside makes my eyes look really small, so to correct this a bit I draw the black pencil on top of the silver line, not hiding it completely, but rather creating a blend of two colours.

???????????????????????????????

After applying mascara I’m ready to move to the lips. I am using a very bright pink colour and first I dip the brush in it very slightly and outline the lips.

??????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

Then I fill them in, using really LOTS of the product, so that it looks pretty much like a lacquer.

???????????????????????????????

And now I’m done. The makeup looks ok, though I wouldn’t call it the most impressive one I’ve ever done. I wish I’d used creamy eyeshadows, for example, which I certainly would have if I had them in those colours.
