My 30 (or more!) days challenges

Day 12 – Glitter

While I really like shimmer beauty products of all kinds, I tend to favour glitter much less – it’s just so kitschy! Perhaps nail polish is the only glittery product I can put up with in certain circumstances. But today’s theme is glitter, and I’m so curious about how it would look that I’m not even thinking of substituting that for shimmer.

???????????????????????????????

The face is done as usual – which means the same makeup that I did back on the Purple day. The eyeshadows today are also going to be purple – but the eyes will look very differently. I start with a dark purple colour and put some on the crease and around it, but not on the eyelid.

A lighter and brighter purple eyeshadow is then applied all over the upper eyelid.

???????????????????????????????

Then I dip a damp brush into the silvery Barry M Fine Glitter Dust and cover the whole eyelid with it. The important thing is to keep the brush damp all the time, otherwise the glitter won’t stay where it should. If I were planning to wear this makeup for a few hours (which I’m not – I’ll wash it off as soon as I’m done with all the pictures!), I’d probably consider using liquid or cream eyeshadows underneath the glitter dust.

I draw a really thick and sharp line with the black eyeliner, making a wing at the corner of the eye and apply some mascara.

The lower lash line is underlined with the Max Factor Excess Intensity Eyeliner pencil in silver.

For my lips, I go for a lipstick that is shimmery but not too bright.

It looks ok, but since today’s makeup is all about glitter, I add some liquid lip gloss. And even this is not enough – so I very lightly touch the lips with the brush dipped in the glitter dust.

???????????????????????????????

And there I am! I deliberately didn’t brush off the loose glittery particles from my face – I think it adds to the look. Which, by the way, turned out much better than I expected!
