My 30 (or more!) days challenges

Day 5 – Bronze

ruflag

I expect quite a lot from the bronze day, as I used different bronzing powders in the past, but never managed to get it right, so gave them up altogether. The obvious alternative would have been to open Google, type ‘how to apply bronzer’, read and learn, but I really couldn’t be bothered. Now is the time to do it!

???????????????????????????????

I don’t want to ‘overload’ the face, so am not using any foundation today – only some under base and a very modest amount of CC cream. I leave the face for now, although I’m not done with it yet, and will come back to it later.

For the eyes, I’m going to keep it really simple, nothing fancy this time. I just cover the top eyelid and a bit of the area above the crease with shimmering brown eyeshadow.

Instead of eyeliner, today I am using the Glo Minerals Precision eye pencil in black colour above my upper lashes, which results in a much softer and a little bit more blurred line.

Then comes a very light touch of mascara, and that’s it for the eyes!

Coming back to the face, it’s now time to actually bronze it. I don’t want to do a proper contouring here, because I will have a separate day for that, so not using any liquid products. I apply some Bronze Goddess powder by Estée Lauder in rather bold strokes under the cheekbones, on the sides of the nose bridge, along the hair-growth line, on the temples and on the chin – more or less all around the face.

To highlight the areas that are likely to catch light (which are, by the way, the centre of the nose bridge, the middle of the forehead, the cheekbones and the centre of the chin) I’m using some white eyeshadow. For some reason it doesn’t work very well with the powder brush, but much better with the fingers!

 ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

To finish the look I’m using some properly bronze lip colour from my palette.

And since it looks rather dry, I also apply some vanilla cake-flavoured lip shine by Philosophy on top of it. I really love how the two products look on my lips, I’m definitely getting a lip gloss in this colour!

That’s it, the bronze look is ready. It was pretty simple and definitely useful – now I know how to do bronzing/highlighting, it would have probably been worth using a bit more highlighter relative to the amount of bronzer used, but these are details, at least I understand the idea. The annoying thing is that the lighting at my flat is not enough for a proper ‘bronze face’ photo, but it is what it is…
