My 30 (or more!) days challenges

Day 4 – Blue

ruflag

I used to wear blue eyeshadows quite extensively in the long gone past, not exactly sure why – it never was my favourite colour, nor did it suit me the most of all. But then I kind of lost interest in bright eyeshadows, except only for the most special occasions. So today’s challenge is not going to be completely new or particularly challenging (none was very challenging so far anyway, but it’s only day 4!)

 ???????????????????????????????

Again, I am not describing my face makeup – and not because I’m being mean or lazy, but simply because it’s been already done here. I really like it, so not planning to deviate from it unless it becomes an essential part of that day’s theme and, therefore, necessary.

So, again, moving directly to the eyes. I have never been a big fan of eyebrow makeup, but for a change decided to fill them with a brown eyeshadow – very moderately though, I really don’t like it when the eyebrows stand out too much!

Then I find the lightest shade of blue on my palette – here it is in the photo – and cover the upper eyelid with it quite generously, applying a few layers.

With the darkest blue colour I mark the outer corner of the eyelid.

Then, again very generously, I cover the outer two thirds of the eyelid with bright cobalt blue eyeshadow. For the outmost part of it I moisten the sponge brush for an even brighter colour.

The same cobalt blue colour is used for the lower eyelid, and I am making the line really thick.

I’m also going bold with the eyeliner – I’m using it above the lashes only but make a reasonably thick line with a flick.

Double coat of black mascara for my eyelashes (including the bottom eyelashes).

Another nice thing that I’ve discovered is the Bundle Monster lip colour palette. It comes in really handy when you want to try out different colours for your lips, particularly those you’ve never tried before, but aren’t that much willing to splash out a fortune on lots of various products. Temptingly, it has a few blue colours as well for some reason, but I’m not really up for extreme stuff today, so am opting for a soft pink colour.

 ???????????????????????????????

And done! It was fairly easy, and does not seem too bad overall, I find the eyes looking quite dramatic. My mum’s comment under the Instagram picture I posted as a result of today’s challenge, though, kindly suggested that with a blue makeup I looked like a drowned woman!
